The above Thermogram is of a refractory lined panel of a Primary Reformer. The refractory material fell off and the result was this major overheating of the external shell panel.
Temporary repairs were administered by the use of Localized External Steam Cooling, which has reduced the temperature.
Continuous temperature monitoring of this area assures that the temperature is not rising and that the problem is not spreading. Also it assures that the localized cooling is being properly administered.
Result is: Prevention of a catastrophic failure and no loss of production.
