The above Thermogram is of the roof section an Auxiliary Boiler. Large chunks of refractory material fell off from a critical section of this boiler (one of the main vertical support beam areas).
Due to the excessively high temperatures, the support beam weakened and was at the point of buckling, which may have caused severe structural damage to the boiler.
Fortunately, temporary repairs were administered without any plant downtime. Now this area is at a more tolerable temperature and awaiting proper permanent repairs at the next scheduled plant turnaround.
